Laguna 'joyriders' kill teener, injure companion

Four motorcycle-riding men shot dead an 18-year-old resident and wounded his companion for no apparent reason shortly before midnight in Laguna province, dzRH radio reported Saturday. Sketchy initial reports identified the fatality as Allen Balagtas, and his companion as Julius Cezar, residents of Calendola village in San Pedro town in Laguna. Police have launched a manhunt for the assailants, described as wearing caps and armed with handguns. The men covered their mouths with black handkerchiefs and rode motorcycles without license plates. Initial investigation showed the incident took place at 11:15 p.m. Friday, at Villa Celestina along Magsaysay Ave., Magsaysay village in San Pedro. The two victims were seated along the street when the suspects showed up and fired at them for no apparent reason.
